About when does this occur (as in, what volume of the manga)? I don't want to buy more manga than I have to.

Okay, so this doesn't actually belong here, but it doesn't fit in the other ones either: You know how Guran Lagan has the most fucking hilarious Parody of bullshit Anime where he says "Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me who believes in you!"

That moment just became like elevendy billion times better, because it anticipate parodied Naruto so hard.

Episode 174 of Shippuden:

"I don't believe in peace, but Jiraya believed that I would find peace, and I believe in his belief in me."

Fuck man. Really? Guran Lagan, come back to me.

Guy Ritchie's Revolver. It's so fucking awesome. It pisses me off that everybody knows about Snatch (probably because of Pitt's pikey character), but just about nobody (that I know) has even heard of Revolver. I mean sure, Snatch was a fine movie, but Revolver is so much more layered and intelligent.

TV Tropes don't even have a page for it. WTF ?

Revolver was an amazing movie, but it wasn't really an 'action' movie. That's my guess why.

I don't nearly care enough to do it, it's just that TV Tropes has got a page for damn near everything, but not for Revolver. I'm just surprised, is all.

Just got the first volume of Naruto uncut. The English language audio is... getting annoying. Is the Japanese langauge audio any better?

I only want to strangle the main characters voice actor to death half as much in Japanese.

The English version of Naruto is so bad it's a different show. The subtitled Japanese version is a true relive and almost enjoyable to watch.

Believe it!

To be fair, the dialogue settles down after a while. Generally, the Believe-Its cut out almost entirely.

Naruto sounds hideous at first, but I don't know if you get used to it or the actor stops gargling with gravel, but it seems to go away.

Gaara's english voice actor needs to get an award. He sounds sandy and crazy at the same time.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

Well, I'm up to the Zabuza rematch now. About what point would it be safe to my sanity to switch to english audio so I can actually do other stuff while watching it?

After Naruto shouts at a roomful of people in the Chunin exams and makes a fool of himself? You should be good.

Edit: Actually, anytime now, I guess.

Naruto starts off an idiot. He becomes progressively less so as the series goes on. I don't know the Wave Country arc that well, but I think from now on...yes, I think you should be okay.

Surprisingly, yes. The last major time I can think of is at the beginning of the Chunin exam arc where he gets nervous and flips out and shouts "Believe it!" at a roomful of other genin.

Sometime, I may have to do an experiment to check to see where they cut out.

Well, it's pretty much stopped by the time they're in the wood during the Chunin Exam.

And the Chunin exam arc and all that after it is worth watching in English.

Yeah, what, maybe a season after that, but... The stories after that start getting stupid, even if the character development is okay for awhile more.

I knew I should have added the qualifier "Until the filler starts."

Yes, but in the comic, I can imagine he's saying it in someway that sounds halfway decent.

Alright, I'll give it another listen in the next story arc, I think.

Not really. Sloganeering in Japan really is as grating as it sounds in English. They have slogans and incantations for everything from greeting to eating to whatever. Sure, they're in the complex language of the kings and not the common tongue, but that's more a fault of English not having distinct layers of formality.
